Unfashionably late, as usual. But I'm trying.
Day 1 - Personal Fic Recs
Strength in Numbers - Individually, Marietta Edgecombe, Millicent Bulstrode, and Lavender Brown bear the scars of their experiences during the war. Together, though, they just might find a recipe for healing. A story about food, forgiveness, and unexpected friendships.
If I had to pick one fic to represent my style, this would probably be it. It's Harry Potter, gen, fleshes out the lives and motivations of characters that canon isn't particularly concerned with or kind to (while not demonizing our heroes in the process), and tries in its own small way to fill in the wizarding world beyond Hogwarts.
Annuals - Neville finds an unexpected link to the past.
While you can't really call Neville a neglected character, he turns up a lot in my stories, too. Not only is he a useful representation of the scars left from the First War, I like that fate's decreed him not hero material and then he goes ahead and becomes one anyway. So it's probably fitting that I pick this fic to represent my drabble output. (It also represents my penchant for summaries that feature some variation on the word "unexpected." In fact, when I went to find the link, I discovered I'd used it twice. Oy.)
If She Doesn't Scare You... - It takes a very particular combination of flamboyance and cruelty to unnerve Gotham's Dark Knight. A combination which a certain British transplant with a penchant for fashion and fur possesses in spades. Batman may need to call for backup on this one.
I do write stuff other than Harry Potter occasionally. It just tends to be cracky crossovers that no one in their right mind would come up with in the first place. But I like this one anyway.
hp_beholder is my favorite fest because it simultaneously ensures that my favorite minor characters get love (literally), and forces me to consider characters even I wouldn't think of as having hidden depths in situations that I wouldn't expect to find them in.
scans_daily has introduced me to a whole bunch of awesome comic book series and creators, while allowing me to keep up with what's currently going on in those fandoms (and warning me about what to disregard).
Will catch up on Day 3 when I have more thought to spare.

Day 2 - Fandom Communities/Fests/Resources/etc. (no idea why the cut won't work; sorry)

TV Tropes may ruin your life, but it's also a useful resource and gut check when I'm not sure whether a certain plot twist or character type has been done to death.
